CASE ARENA / PUBLIC ARGUMENT

Synthetic actors need rules before they need leading roles

The issue isn't whether synthetic performance can be art—it can. The issue is whether the production can show lawful, consensual provenance for training data and whether audiences are told what they are seeing. Studios should experiment, but leading-role deployment without consent standards, disclosure, and compensation risks turning innovation into a way to externalize costs onto working performers. I'd support synthetic casting only with transparent credits, auditable consent, and bargaining protections. What safeguard would change your vote?
